„Wege zur Romantik“

Im Zentrum des Kurses stehen solistische und kammermusikalische Hammerklavierliteratur von 1750 bis 1850. Besonders interessant sind für den aufführungspraktisch informierten Interpreten die verschieden möglichen Ansätze  in der Umbruchsituation der Musik nach 1800. Teilweise sind noch „barocke“ und „klassische“ Zugänge sinnvoll, andererseits müssen scheinbar gleich gebliebene Notationen mit neuem Ausdruck erfüllt werden – eine höchst spannende und herausfordernde Aufgabenstellung, die stilistisch adäquate Differenzierung von Stieltechnik und Interpretation verlangt!

22^nd - 26^th February 2010                   “Paths to Romanticism”

At the heart of this seminar are soloist and chamber music related pianoforte literature publications dating back to the era from 1750 to 1850. For the performance practice informed interpreters, the various possible approaches in the paradigm change situation of post 1800 music are of particular interest. In some cases, baroque and classic approaches are still expedient, however, at the same time the notations, which seem to have stayed the same, will have to be filled with new expressions. This makes for a highly enthralling and challenging assignment that demands a stylistically adequate differentiation between style techniques and interpretation!

Master class Fortepiano

Millstatt/Austria  June, 3^th to 6^th 2010

In the center of this master class will be one of the earliest fortepianos of  Ludwig Bösendorfer (ca. 1828, 6 ½ octaves) – an instrument in a good and inspiring condition. Also there will be a copy after Anton Walter (5 octaves), made by Robert Brown.

Beside of questions of interpretation Wolfgang Brunner will have a special attention to differentiated and suitable technique of playing fortepiano.

A final concert of participants will be at June 6th.

Meisterkurs Cembalo und Hammerklavier

Für den Kurs stehen 2 Cembali (415 / 440) und ein fünfoktaviger Hammerflügel (430) nach Anton Walter zur Verfügung.

Je nach Interesse der Teilnehmer werden neben der Repertoirearbeit auch historische (oder nicht ganz so „historische“) Improvisationsmodelle ins Blickfeld des Kurses rücken.
